Gonzaga Ranks No. 4 Nationally for Accounting Teaching Case Publications

No. 4 for Published Accounting Teaching Cases

Gonzaga University’s School of Business Administration has earned national recognition for excellence in accounting education, ranking No. 4 in the nation for published accounting teaching cases, according to Brigham Young University’s accounting research database.

This distinction reflects the School’s commitment to developing innovative, practitioner-focused teaching materials that bring real-world accounting challenges into the classroom.

Associate Professor Casey J. McNellis has played a leading role in this achievement, earning a No. 2 national ranking in individual teaching case publications for 2024. His portfolio of published cases engages students in applied learning and contributes meaningfully to the profession.

Professor Matthew L. Hoag recently added to the School’s resources with an Alteryx teaching case, now available in early access. This case integrates data analytics into accounting instruction, preparing students for a technology-driven profession.

Other Gonzaga accounting faculty who have published teaching cases in recent years include Gerhard Barone, Andrew M. Brajcich, Sara Kern, and Daniel W. Law, further strengthening the School’s national reputation for applied accounting education.
