"Beyond Reactive Antiracism" challenges the widespread cultural and educational trend of engaging in antiracism primarily as a response to individual acts of violence. The talk offers, instead, three Black rhetorics for undoing colonial relations to communicative identity-making. An internationally-renowned scholar, Dr. Maraj has been recognized with multiple awards for his research and activism.

This talk will be of interest to students and faculty across disciplines.
