About This Event
We invite you to celebrate this year's Red Mass of the Legal Profession with us on Thursday, October 12 at 5:30 PM in St. Aloysius Church. All are welcome to join us for an occasion of prayerful petition and thanksgiving. A reception is to follow at Cataldo Hall.
The 2023 Distinguished Legal Service Award will be presented at the mass.
Originally held in 1310, Red Mass marked the beginning of the Michaelmas (fall term) of the King’s Bench during the reign of Edward of England. It was an occasion of pageantry and solemnity as judges, barristers and members of Parliament gathered to invoke God’s blessing and guidance for themselves and their profession.
