About This Event
The Greater Gonzaga Guild welcomes Dr. Clarence "Bud" Barnes, Professor of Economics and Dean Emeritus of the School of Business Administration. Dr. Barnes takes a close-up look at income inequality, immigration, and trade tariffs – key issues for the coming 2020 elections. His talk will present background information that has led to the growing gap between the wealthy in our nation and other income groups. He'll examine the impact of immigration containment, including worker shortages in agriculture as well as declining visa programs that are vital to Fortune 500 companies. He'll share insights into the consequences of tariffs among major corporations and small-to-medium-sized businesses as well. Coffee and networking starts at 10 a.m.; lecture and Q&A from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Everyone welcome.
