About This Event
To aid Spokane citizens in their democratic deliberation, we are hosting a Spokane Candidates Climate Change Forum (C3 Forum). The event is co-sponsored by the Gonzaga University Environmental Studies Department, 350 Spokane, The Lands Council, Spokane Riverkeeper, Community Building Foundation, and Futurewise.
Contrary to how it is commonly presented, climate change is not primarily a partisan issue. According to a study by Yale Center for Climate Communication, 67% of Americans are “cautious,” “concerned,” or “alarmed” about global warming, whereas only 26% of Americans are “doubtful” or “dismissive.” Most citizens in Spokane are interested in candidates’ views on global warming and what they would do to help Spokane mitigate and adapt to it.
