As the School of Education is home to five departments, spaces exist in the Rosauer Center that are specialized for the practical application of skills. The Department of Counselor Education has two rooms for videotaping counseling sessions. The Department of Special Education has space dedicated as an early childhood center for preschool children with special needs. That same space is shared by The Gonzaga Center for Applied Behavior Analysis, PLLC. This space has been wired for sound so the room can be observed; the observation room and preschool are fitted with a one-way mirror.
The School of Education pioneered a wireless laptop initiative and has wireless laptop stations for bringing technology into all classrooms. These stations allow faculty to demonstrate technology in the classroom as well as provide for interaction online. Wireless Internet access is available to anyone in the building on the "Gonzaga Community" and "Gonzaga Guest" wireless networks.
The Technology Resource Center (TRC) is the hub of instructional technology at the J.M. and Jessie Rosauer Center for Education. In addition to offering the hardware and software our professional candidates require, we provide them with basic training and technical support. The TRC is staffed and open M-F as well as during weekends in the Spring and Fall semesters.
The Active Learning Center (ALC) is located on the first floor of the Rosauer Center, and is equipped with lounge, table and booth seating to allow for individual or group study sessions. The 4 TV monitors in the ALC can be used to mirror laptops to accommodate group study. Feel free to bring in your own devices, as there are many stations to keep them charged while working or lounging. Food and drinks are allowed in the ALC, but all drinks must have lids on them.

In recent years, a large push has been made to encourage students to pursue the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and math) however, a counter part that is equally important is the arts. Without one the other cannot exist and to serve as a reminder to this, The Rosauer School of Education now features a Rosauer Center School of Education Art Exhibition.
Every semester in the west wing of the Rosauer School of Education building, we feature art work from a K-12 school in the greater Spokane Area. Sometimes the art comes from a public school, other times it come from a private school. Sometimes the art has a theme, other times it does not. Regardless, the meaning is simple: to celebrate the artistic expression and pursuits of the students we work with in the greater Spokane Community. We hope that this exhibition will not only stretch the minds of students in a creative capacity but, also build an even stronger relationships between us and the schools we work with.
The Rosauer School of Education has always prided itself on preparing socially responsible professionals who serve with care, competence, and commitment, that starts here. We as a school of education hope that those we teach to become educators, will keep this at the forefront of all they do and continue to bring creativity and powerful relationships into the classrooms they teach.
