Public Events

Gonzaga in Florence hosts a number of events open to the public. As part of our mission of community engagement, we invite community members to join our faculty and students in pro-seminars. These events are intended to bring one area of faculty and/or student research to a broader public. Our pro-seminars are held in English, but often the topics are directly pertinent to Florentine or Italian history, culture, and society.

Gonzaga in Florence also partners with local institutions for other events. For example, every June, GIF hosts a Human Rights Symposium with RFK Human Rights Italian and the Gonzaga University College of Law. This event brings leading judges and intellectuals together to discuss current issues related to human rights: recent topics include immigration, violence against women, and terrorism.

We invite proposals for other ways to collaborate with our community in creating engaging and valuable public events.
