Academic Integrity Policy

Gonzaga University is committed to supporting and protecting academic integrity in all aspects of what we do. Our Academic Integrity Policy was developed with that commitment in mind. We encourage all students, faculty and staff to familiarize themselves with the policy.

Integrity Formation

The institution’s mission statement expresses Gonzaga University's self-understanding through its Catholic, Jesuit and humanistic heritage and identity. These spiritual and intellectual traditions are expressed in the ideals of reflective and critical thought, ethical discernment, innovation, and commitment to social justice. The ideals imply a deeply held, rigorously maintained, and clearly articulated standard of academic integrity.

We believe that a commitment to academic integrity contributes, not only to a campus climate of trust and community, but also to individual integrity, honesty and well-being. Conversely, violations of academic integrity are detrimental to both the community and to the individual. This belief entails just sanctions for violations of these ideals, the details of which are contained herein. Just sanctions require that all students and faculty be aware both of the sanctions and of the policies that they enforce.
