Why are you in admissions at Gonzaga?

My decision to come to Gonzaga was one of the best decisions of my life! I grew so much during my time here, engaging in new communities and conversations and meeting some of my best friends. I want to help students see their own potential and ability to grow during their time at Gonzaga, and to see that regardless of their interests, there is a community and a support system for them here.

What’s your favorite place on campus?

My favorite place is Foley Lawn. I love that it is adjacent to Hemmingson and Foley Library, which makes it a busy hub of campus. On a beautiful day students can be seen laying in the grass, playing Frisbee or Spikeball and enjoying the sunshine, and these days are some of my favorites at GU. I love to see students outside, being social, and appreciating our beautiful campus. The good vibe is contagious on these kinds of days!

What’s your favorite thing to do in Spokane?

Anything involving the river! We are so lucky here to have the Spokane River flowing right through town. I love walking and running along the Centennial Trail, swimming in the river during the summer, rafting through whitewater near Riverside State Park, and enjoying views of the river from Kendall Yards and downtown, especially on a beautiful evening.

Advice for prospective students:

Don’t let competitiveness or peer pressure stress you out about where you should apply or where you should go to college. So much about the admission process is finding a place that makes you feel at home, and following your gut and pursuing that feeling will hopefully help students make the best college decisions for them.
