Fee Waiver InformationThe Center for Community Engagement (CCE) at Gonzaga University has instituted the Service Immersion Fee Waiver in order to provide greater access to Gonzaga students to engage in service. We believe that the cost of Service Immersion programs should not be a deterrent to those who are eager and committed to perform works of outreach and community service. The financial support of this fee waiver is intended to foster student leadership development by encouraging civic engagement, service, and community outreach. Service Immersion Fee Waivers are available to students who have submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have demonstrated that they need funding to pay for school. Students experiencing loss of family income or other financial hardships may also apply.
Fee Waiver AwardApplications will be reviewed by a committee of CCE staff who will award the scholarships based on the number of applicants and availability of funds. All participants can participate in fundraising efforts to subsidize the remaining program cost. Eligible students can receive this scholarship award up to two times during their studies at Gonzaga University.
Open to Gonzaga University undergraduate students in good standing with the university, and a Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above. Applicants must complete all necessary paperwork and meet program requirements. Students must complete the general application and provide the name and contact information of a reference.
Preference will be given to students who:
- Have documented financial need.
- Explain how a service immersion experience will enable them to expand and enrich their experience at Gonzaga.
- Exemplify qualities of a good ambassador for the university through leadership, multi-cultural sensitivity, strong communication skills, and a desire to engage others.
