Biographical Information

Vanessa is an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington, where she represents the federal government and its agencies and employees in civil litigation in the District. Vanessa’s practice includes a variety of civil defense matters, with a focus on environmental and administrative law.

Prior to joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Vanessa clerked for U.S. District Judge John D. Bates of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia and worked in private practice for several years in Washington, D.C. and Spokane.

Vanessa has served on the Washington Women Lawyers Board of Directors, and currently serves on the Board of the WWL Spokane Chapter. Outside of the office, she is an avid trail runner and enjoys time with her husband and two children.
