Graduate Assistantships

Numerous students receive Graduate Assistantships (GA) working for the School of Business. GAs receive $15 per hour and work approximately 6-12 hours per week assisting a faculty or professional staff member. In order to be eligible for a GA, students must be registered for at least 6 credits during the semester in which the assistantship applies and have a US social security number. Applications for graduate assistantships are due with a current resume by July 1 for fall semester, December 1 for spring semester, and April 1 for summer semesters.

Financial Aid

The Graduate School of Business and Gonzaga University offers a number of financial aid services. For the 2017-2018 academic school year, over 75% of MBA, M.Acc and MS.Tax students received financial aid in the form of graduate assistantships, scholarships or student loans.

Federal Loans

  • Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan
  • Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
  • Federal Graduate PLUS Loan

These are fixed interest rate student loans. The Stafford rate is fixed at 6.8% and the Graduate PLUS rate is fixed at 8.5%. Principal payments may be deferred while you are enrolled at least half-time. Three or more credits per semester is considered half-time for graduate programs. The minimum requirement for loan eligibility and continued deferment of principal.

Private Loans

Numerous banks offer private educational loan programs to further assist students and families with college expenses. All private educational loan programs are based on creditworthiness. Your lender may offer a type of private educational loan through their website that does not require school certification. Borrowing this type of private educational loan may have a serious negative impact on your existing financial aid package. Please contact the Financial Aid Office before borrowing on of these loans. The Financial Aid Office can provide you a list of lender options.

Third Party Sponsors: If your tuition is to be paid by a corporate sponsor, we require proof of sponsorship. Contact the Student Accounts Office to confirm your classes.
