Matthew Trimble Recognized as Outstanding Colleague
The SEAS Dean's Office is proud to recognize Matthew Trimble as the SEAS Outstanding Colleague for January. Matthew serves as a System Administrator in the School of Engineering & Applied Science (SEAS) and has been a vital member of the Gonzaga community since 2015.
Over the past year which has been marked by new spaces, new technologies, and growing computing needs, Matthew has been essential to keeping SEAS running smoothly. From setting up and supporting labs, installing and updating software, and troubleshooting classroom issues to maintaining faculty and staff laptops, his work ensures that students, staff, and faculty can focus on their teaching, learning, and research without disruption.
Matthew seamlessly bridges complex infrastructure with day-to-day user support. Colleagues consistently praise his calm, respectful demeanor, quick response time, and remarkable ability to find timely solutions, especially when equipment failures threaten downtime. His quiet, “get it done” approach inspires confidence that our systems and hardware are in good hands.
Beyond his technical expertise, Matthew is a true team player who is always willing to help wherever needed, never seeking recognition for his efforts. We are deeply grateful for his dedication, steady presence, and positive attitude, which make an immeasurable difference in SEAS every day.
When Matthew isn’t keeping our systems running smoothly, you can likely find him enjoying the open road his Harley, spending time with his family and dogs, or attending a rock concert, always a few of his favorite topics to chat about!
Please join us in congratulating Matthew Trimble on this well-deserved recognition as our January SEAS Outstanding Colleague!
