Spokane River Sound Action at Gonzaga University Urban Arts Center

About This Event

Spokane River Sound Action records and listens to the river from above and below. From above, we hear the spray of water and air, and the flow which brings a sense of collective care, movement, and presence. From below, the underwater microphone (hydrophone) hears things which are surprisingly melodic, suggesting a kind of personality. These recordings will be presented in immersive, quadraphonic sounds and video projections at GUUAC by the Spokane Laboratory Art + Residency artists, Mill Canyon Sound Actions (Eyvind Kang, Jessika Kenney, Jeremy Sherrer) and joined with very special guests in a live streamed performance on Jan 11th.
