STEPS: From Suffrage to Solidary
Join in! Celebrate the past, present, and future of women’s activism.
What inspires you about the past or makes you hopeful about the future?
What brings you together with other Zags? (Your club, your culture, your dorm or floor, your team or a sport, your future profession, your field of study, or a goal?)
- Sign up – individually or as a group – to participate:
Complete a commitment card or email firstname.lastname@example.org and you will receive information on when and where to gather to create sashes or signs to represent your mission or group.
Parade participants must be from the Gonzaga community, and the public is welcome to gather and watch.
Washington State passed the 19th Amendment on March 22, 1920, five months prior to the ratification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The 19th Amendment guaranteed women’s right to vote in the U.S. The GU commemorative parade is a sustainable, non-consumer, inclusive event.
This event is part of Gonzaga's yearlong recognition of the 19th Amendment's centennial.
