About This Event

Mark your calendars and eat your iron-rich veggies before our Spring Blood Drive! The registration link will open soon.

Did you know it can take up to three days for donated blood to be ready to be used because it goes through various tests to ensure it is safe. Donating blood after an emergency has happened often does not help those that need blood in the critical hours after a tragedy. After 9/11, it was the blood that was donated on 9/5, 9/6, and 9/7 that saved lives. So donate every 52 days because you never know when one of your loved ones will need a transfusion.

In the 30 seconds it’s taken you to read this far, 10 people in the U.S. have needed a blood donation.

Do you need more encouragement to donate? Well…

  • You get free juice, doughnuts, and cookies. Truly, why pass that up?
  • Saving lives doesn’t get any easier than this.
  • Unlike money sometimes is, blood isn’t that big of a sacrifice to part with… as long as it is a pint at a time.
  • You can get out of heavy lifting as long as you have your coband on. Wear if until it falls off if you want to.
  • You’ll get a sticker that either says “Be Nice to Me. I donated” or “Kiss Me. I donated.”… either way, wear it down the street and good things are bound to happen.
  • Three lives will have been touched by your generous donation.

Be sure to eat an iron-rich menu in the days before donating and follow the INBC’s Donation Tips. See you on the bus!
