About This Event
Translating research into impact: How can technology improve the conditions for those living in poverty? What are the roles for scientists, engineers, humanitarians, and business people in development? What are the most pressing problems that need global collaboration to solve?
Dr. Jason Prapas, Translational Research Director at MIT’s Tata Center for Technology and Design, will share some of his experiences within universities and startups that are tackling tremendous challenges through innovative technologies and social enterprise. Case studies will be used to illustrate the importance of user-centric design, co-development, and well-aligned partnerships in achieving improved outcomes for the under-served.
