About This Event
Throughout history, moments of courage have defined the contours of war. Featuring original live music, innovative stage design, and the chance to experience Tony Kushner’s award winning translation of Bertolt Brecht’s epic masterpiece, “Mother Courage and Her Children,” directed by Kathleen Jeffs, is the story of a woman who travels the Thirty Year War in her tattered wagon, literally feeding her family off of the machine of war.
Bertolt Brecht began to write this play in 1939, from exile, during Hitler’s rise to power. Tony Kushner's award-winning translation was published in 2009. The music for our production is composed by Joshua Shank, our Music Department's composition professor. It is a timely and relevant classic that has engaged audiences throughout tumultuous times.
Please Note: This performance is rated PG-13 and may not be suitable for all audiences.
