About This Event

The Law-Med Workshop Series is featuring a panel discussion with Dr. Kathy Tuttle and Richard Allen. Dr. Tuttle will address the IRB and FDA approval process which occurs on pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Richard Allen will address the patent process, in addition to the litigation of patents, involving medical devices.

Featuring:

Richard Allen is a partner in the Patent Practice Group at Lee & Hayes. He practices patent law with a focus on mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies. Allen is highly involved in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications and the evaluation of existing patents to determine infringement.

Dr. Kathy Tuttle is the Executive Director for Research at Providence Health Care and the regional Principal Investigator of Translational Health Sciences. Dr. Tuttle was also the prior chairperson of the Institutional Review Board in Spokane for many years.

About the Law-Med Workshop Series:

The Law-Med Workshop was designed and implemented by a team of faculty and students from Gonzaga University School of Law and the University of Washington Medical School. This pilot program is designed for law and medical students to learn in a cross-disciplinary environment. All students and faculty interested in medical-legal issues are invited to attend.
