About This Event
The Greater Gonzaga Guild presents Dr. Elisabeth Mermann-Jozwiak, Dean, College of Arts & Sciences speaking on “Interdisciplinary Studies at Gonzaga”
Interdisciplinary collaborations is a sine qua non of professional life. It is further essential in fostering innovation. Gonzaga University, and the College of Arts and Sciences in particular, prepare students for the future by modeling interdisciplinary work and by engaging them in such work. Through their research and teaching collaborations, faculty demonstrate the importance of interdisciplinarity. By being directly engaged in interdisciplinary research, at times with cross-disciplinary faculty teams, students are able to discover that relevance for themselves. In this presentation, Dr. Mermann-Joswiak will provide examples of interdisciplinary studies in the College of Arts and Sciences and point to how they relate to real-world problem-solving.
