Center for Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry

Welcome to CURCI

The College of Arts & Sciences launched the Center for Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry (CURCI) in 2016 in order to promote, publicize, facilitate, and celebrate the transformative educational experiences that occur through student-faculty collaborations.

Whether that’s a student on a Morris Fellowship in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences studying Zambian choral music from an ethnomusicologist’s perspective, or students using travel funds from CURCI to attend a national chemistry conference to present their research in a professional setting for the first time, CURCI’s mission is to support the students and faculty that are transforming the educational experience in the College of Arts & Sciences and tell the world about their work.

What Does CURCI Offer?

  • We serve as a central resource for anything related to undergraduate research and creative inquiry in the College of Arts & Sciences
  • We administer travel funding for student travel to conferences and meetings to present their scholarly work
  • We coordinate the Morris Undergraduate Research Fellowship in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences program
  • We seek out and share undergraduate research and creative inquiry opportunities in the College of Arts & Sciences and beyond
  • We assist departments in incorporating undergraduate research and creative inquiry into curricula
  • We encourage and support faculty collaboration and interdisciplinary projects

CURCI Provides Research Opportunities to CAS Students from all Disciplines.
