Eduroam logoWhat is Eduroam?

Eduroam (education roaming) is a world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. It is available at thousands of locations spanning more than 70 countries. Eduroam allows you to use your GU credentials to login while visiting other Eduroam institutions and permits visitors to Gonzaga’s campus to login securely with their own .edu credentials. To maintain security, credentials are forwarded to the user’s home institution for authentication and are not shared with the host site.

How do I use it?

You may have already noticed Eduroam as an option on our Wi-Fi network at GU. Gonzaga faculty, staff or students will not have to alter anything while on the Gonzaga campus and should continue to connect to the Gonzaga Community Wi-Fi network. You will want to connect to Eduroam only when visiting other campuses.

Are you a visitor to Gonzaga’s campus?

If you are visiting Gonzaga from another educational institution, you have a .edu username and your home institution is a member of Eduroam, you will be able to securely connect to Gonzaga’s Wi-Fi network called “eduroam” using your home institution’s login credentials. You can find Gonzaga’s Eduroam Wi-Fi option by clicking on the Wi-Fi settings on your mobile device. Eduroam will appear as an option for you on most areas of our campus. This network will not appear as an option in our campus residences. To login, you will need to enter your full username and password (i.e.

Are you traveling to another Eduroam campus?

If you are a Gonzaga faculty, staff or student and plan to travel to another Eduroam campus, you must use your full username and password when logging into Eduroam (i.e. This is how the institution you are visiting will be able to authenticate your account is from Gonzaga and you will enjoy a better, more secure WiFi experience than connecting to the institution’s “guest” WiFi network.
