Undergraduate involvement in faculty research is a key element of science education at Gonzaga. A recent research grant to study a biological control for the invasive weed, cheatgrass, is giving some Gonzaga students a fantastic opportunity to put their education to use. "It's exciting to be involved in a project that has the potential to help solve a problem as big and difficult as cheatgrass," says Assoicate Professor of biology, Julie Beckstead. "It's also a great opportunity for students to be involved in real research on a real-world problem."
