Gonzaga University Military Service Community Launch Events

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Gonzaga University's ROTC program. To celebrate this milestone, ROTC members, family and friends are invited to a multi-day series of events on campus and around Spokane.

April 27–29 Enjoy the camaraderie of fellow military Zags from all ages with an array of hosted activities on campus and around Spokane. The festivities will culminate to a traditional black-tie Military Ball on Friday, which will also host the launch of the Gonzaga Military Service Community.

Thursday, April 27

Military Service Community Check-in

noon–3 p.m. | ROTC Offices, College Hall 045, College Hall (Ad Building)

All attendees of the 2023 GU Military Service Community Launch weekend can check in, pick up their packet and say hello to ROTC cadre and cadets.


Bulldog Battalion Military Lab (Annual Cadet Awards Ceremony)

3:30 p.m. | College Commons, Humanities Building (located south of St. Aloysius Church)

Dress code:
Zag Casual (please wear your nametag and lanyard)

Attendees of the Gonzaga Military Service Community launch weekend may attend the annual cadet awards ceremony. Awards ceremony begins promptly at 4 p.m.


Thursday Evening Gathering at Jack and Dan's

6 p.m. | Jack and Dan's

Dress code:
Zag Casual

Join us for a casual, no-host reunion evening at Jack and Dans following the awards ceremony. Food and drink available for purchase.


Friday, April 28

PT with the Bulldog Battalion

6 a.m. | Mulligan Field 

Dress code:
Army PT uniform
Civilian PT gear

Afterwards, grab a (no-host) breakfast at the new COG in the John J. Hemmingson Center.


75th Anniversary GU Military Ball and Military Service Community Launch

4 p.m. | Centennial Ballroom, Spokane Convention Center
334 W. Spokane Falls Boulevard, Spokane, Washington

Join the GU Bulldog Battalion for the Military Ball as they celebrate the 75th anniversary of Army ROTC at Gonzaga and launch of the Gonzaga Military Service Community. Featuring a keynote by General Edward M. Daly and entertainment by the band Superchrome! A no-host bar will be on location.

Program:
4 p.m. cocktail hour
5 p.m. receiving line
6 p.m. dinner and formal programing begins
9 p.m. entertainment by Superchrome!

Dress code:
Military: Army service uniform with Bow Tie or branch designee and mess dress.
Civilian: black tie/evening gown or formal attire.

Price: $65.40 per person.
Registration includes a 3-course plated meal (chicken and vegetarian entrée options available).

Gonzaga University Military Service Community “Golf Scramble”

Join fellow Zag ROTC alumni, members of the cadre and other connected service members for a fun golf scramble.
