Italian Studies

Gonzaga is one of a handful of colleges in the West that offers the opportunity to study Italian language, culture and literature to undergraduates. The Italian Studies Program at Gonzaga University prepares students who want to make the most of their experience in the Gonzaga-in-Florence program and become fluent in Italian. Beginning Italian classes are popular among freshmen and sophomore students. Upper division classes are normally small and students receive much attention from their professors. Students in the Gonzaga-in-Florence program who are also Italian Studies majors often fall in love with Italy and want to go back after graduation. There are opportunities for them to do so. Graduates with a good level of fluency can hope to work with American companies interested in the Italian market.
