Gonzaga Social Media Pages and other interactive experiences are for:
- Connecting with the Gonzaga community
- Sharing stories, news and updates
- Sharing campus events and activities
- Highlighting student/faculty/staff achievements
- Healthy discussion
- Answering questions/addressing concerns
- Attracting new students
- Showcasing achievements
- Communicating with alumni
Gonzaga Social Media Accounts are not for:
Spam
Promoting causes or businesses unrelated to Gonzaga or its mission through Gonzaga social media pages or other online experiences is not allowed.
Advancing an agenda
Gonzaga social media and other online experiences are not platforms to advance or promote a particular opinion or stance on any topic. Users are encouraged to express their opinions respectfully and factually on a specific post. However, those who post those opinions on unrelated posts or are disrespectful to others will be blocked.
Misrepresentation
Do not impersonate someone you are not, or post words or photos that are copyrighted by someone else.
Offending others
Use of language that is hurtful, defamatory, discriminatory, racist, sexist, offensive, obscene, inflammatory, unlawful, vulgar, or otherwise objectionable is not appropriate on Gonzaga’s pages or other online experiences. Users who conduct themselves this way will be blocked.
Sharing personal information
Sharing personal, identifying details or contact information, including e-mail addresses – or another individual’s personal information - is discouraged.
For those who violate these expectations:
Comments, links, photos, videos, or other content that violates the stated purposes and expectations of participation in Gonzaga’s social media communities and other online experiences will be removed at the discretion of Gonzaga University without advance notice, explanation, or discussion.
We reserve the right to remove other content not explicitly referred to in these expectations at the University’s discretion, especially if it exposes Gonzaga to legal or reputation risks. The author may be contacted with a reminder about user expectations. Repeated instances of abuse will result in banning the user from the page or experience.
