Reapplying / Returning / Deferring

If you are returning to Gonzaga, reapplying to the University or have deferred your admission, please submit the required documents listed below. Contact the Office of Admission with questions about the application process: admissions@gonzaga.edu or 1-800-322-2584 or 509-313-6572.

Deferred Students

The following requirements must be met to qualify as a deferred student:

  • You were admitted to Gonzaga within the past year
  • You deferred your admission to Gonzaga for no more than one academic year
  • You have not enrolled in any college coursework since applying to Gonzaga
Reapplying Students

The following requirements must be met to qualify as a reapplying student:

  • You were admitted to Gonzaga as a First-Year or Transfer student within the past two years
  • You did not formally defer admission – or – you deferred admission and more than one year has passed
Returning Gonzaga Students

The following requirements must be met to qualify as a returning student:

  • You have been absent from Gonzaga for one semester or longer
  • You are not on a leave of absence – or – your leave of absence has expired
  • Important Note: Former GU students must satisfy the requirements of any holds applied to their Student Account before a new application can be processed.  Once the Quick Application (see below) has been received, the Office of Admission will send the applicant an email to notify them of any existing account holds.  Please contact Audrey Minton - Senior Transfer Admission Counselor at 509-313-6579 with any questions.

How to Apply

Please submit the following documents to complete a new application:

  • Quick Application
  • Final high school transcript (required for first-year applicants and transfer students who have earned less than 30 semester credits of transferable coursework)
  • Official college transcript from any institution attended (reapplying and returning students, if applicable)
  • College Report from your most recent college institution (reapplying and returning students, if applicable)
Returning to Gonzaga- Students Near Degree Completion

If you intend to reapply for admission and had previously applied to graduate from Gonzaga or you are near degree completion, please contact the Degree Evaluation Office prior to submitting a new application. Contact Natalie Borek at (509) 313-6502 or Heather Teshome at (509) 313-3543.

Application Deadlines

Applications for admission under any of the above circumstances must be submitted by regular application deadlines as follows:

First-Year Applicants

  • February 1st for Fall Semester
  • November 15th for Spring Semester

Transfer Applicants (Includes Returning GU Students)

  • March 1st (Priority Financial Aid) or June 1st for Fall Semester
  • November 15th for Spring Semester
