Undergraduate Research Week is April 11-15, 2011

On November 16, 2010, the U.S. House of Representatives declared the week of April 11, 2011, as Undergraduate Research Week, encouraging colleges and universities across the country to work in conjunction with their governmental and community partners to celebrate the importance and impact of undergraduate research on their campuses. There are efforts underway to hold Posters on the Hill in Washington, D.C., during the week, as well.

Gonzaga University recognizes the value and importance of undergraduate research, and is excited to highlight several events that are occurring during the week of April 11 in the greater Spokane area, and encourages the community at-large to participate in these events. Research not only gives our students an opportunity to showcase and present their work, but it also generates enthusiasm for others to undertake similar, challenging and worthwhile endeavors.

Research in Action

A team of Gonzaga University Engineering students is working with the EPA to conceptualize and build a green machine -- a relatively inexpensive solution that will hopefully bring an electricity to remote regions of Kenya.
