Brief Biography

Dr. Teets, Professor of Accounting, joined the Gonzaga faculty in 1994.  He teaches primarily senior- and graduate-level courses in financial accounting and reporting.  During the 1997-8 academic year, he served as the Academic Accounting Fellow in the Office of the Chief Accountant at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C.  During the 2007-8 academic year, he served as KPMG's first Professor in Residence in their Department of Professional Practice in New York City.  In addition to his teaching responsibilities at Gonzaga, Dr. Teets presents continuing professional education programs across the country, including FASB Update, Revenue Recognition, and Accounting for Derivatives conferences.  Prior to joining Gonzaga, Dr. Teets taught at Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  His Ph.D. is from the University of Chicago.
