A President's Greeting

Welcome to Gonzaga online. As you visit this site, we hope you gain a better understanding of what our students, alumni, faculty and staff often refer to as the "Gonzaga experience," an experience deeply embedded in the 450-year-old Jesuit tradition that educates the whole person, mind, body and spirit. We emphasize rigorous academics, teaching excellence, an exemplary student life experience, and five specifically Jesuit dimensions: faith, service, justice, ethics and leadership. We take pride in our small class sizes, our interactive and co-participative approach to learning, and our opportunities for independent student research.

One of our greatest strengths is our community ethos which synthesizes "friendships for life," care for the individual, creativity, sprit and fun. This ethos has been developing since the inception of the University and it was certainly part of my Gonzaga experience from 1970-1974. Our 92 percent retention rate speaks compellingly to our students' experience, as well.
