GUSR (Gonzga University Specialized Recreation) strives to create an atmosphere where people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and ages feel welcome, respected, and loved. We focus on creating programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities, creating a safe place that fosters equality and inclusion. We serve a group of people with exceptionalities who are underrepresented at Gonzaga; we stand to create a niche for people with developmental disabilities at Gonzaga. Our programs and activities are created to foster an inclusive environment at Gonzaga; in fact we have more Gonzaga students in the program than we do adults with developmental disabilities! Our programs include: Sepcial Olympics, seasonal parties, biannual plays, the annual Way of the Heart Retreat, fundraisers, and many other special events.
