Just by wanting to get involved is the first step. Stop by in Crosby Student Center room 100 for a listing of all the clubs and organizations available at Gonzaga. If you have never been involved, ask an upperclassman for more information on the various student activities--they are a good resource.

2 . How involved should I be during my first year of college? ^

Greatly depends on you, and how much time you have. As a first year student, it is key to get adjusted to your living arrangement and settling in to your classes. Your first semester is a good time to look into clubs and organizations that are geared towards your interest(s) and/or major(s).

3 . How do I join a club or organization?^

A full list of available clubs and contact information is available through the Office of Student Activities, located in Crosby Student Center room 100.

4 . How do I start a new club?^

If 10 or more Gonzaga student have a similar area of interest and would like to form a club on campus, they should fill out an emerging club interest form and turn it in to the Office of Student Activities. Advising is available to get a club up and running with an advisor and sponsorship.

5 . How do I plan a campus activity sponsored by my club or organization?^

To plan a campus-wide event, there is an event checklist that can be obtained in the Office of Student Activities. G.U. recognized organizations may reserve facilities through Campus Services at (509) 313-6854.

6 . How do I publicize my club sponsored activity to the entire campus?^

A publicity planner is available through the Office of Student Activities. There are many avenues for advertising and publicizing activities including all-campus e-mail, the student newspaper, the Take Notice, the semester activities calendar.

7 . What issues or topics are addressed on diversity programs?^

Issues and topics addressed on diversity programs include, but are not limited to, race and ethnicity, gender and lesbian, socio-economic status, persons with disabilities and religious preference.

8 . What kinds of diversity programs are offered?^

Diversity programs are not limited to speakers and lectures. Other kinds of cultural programs include student and faculty panels, theatre presentations, dinners, dances, movies, and fairs.
