There's a lot of good to be said about
going to college. You come to Gonzaga University with dreams and
expectations about your future. You have a whole new world to
explore and enjoy.
We all would like to manage these expectations
with a minimal amount of stress. At times, some students may find
the pressures and transitions of college difficult to handle. Some
may find themselves dealing with uncertainty and stress by using
poor coping strategies that may even compound their problems.
Additionally, emerging-adulthood is a time of
profound developmental change. College students are challenged with
a number of important tasks:
1. Developing an integrated sense of self
2. Forging respectful and enduring relationships
with other people
3. Forming a realistic sense of personal and
intellectual strengths and weaknesses
4. Discovering individual meaning and purpose in
life.
The Counseling and Career Assessment Center
contributes to Gonzaga University by offering a wide range of
psychological counseling, career counseling, and consulting
services to members of the community. As psychologists and
counselors, we are committed to the standards of our professions
and endeavor to provide the best service possible to all those who
seek our assistance.
We respect the dignity and worth of all students
as growing and developing individuals with unique perspectives and
contributions to make. We work cooperatively with faculty, staff,
administrators, and parents toward promoting the growth of students
during their college years.
We invite you to visit the Counseling and Career
Assessment Center. We are located on the third floor of the
Administration Building, Room 303. Please feel free to contact us
with any questions you have regarding our services or for making an
appointment. We can be reached at (509) 323-4054 and/or ccac@gonzaga.edu.
