ZESSTZESST

ZESST (Zags Encouraging Student & Senior Togetherness) is in its fourth year and is implementing a solid group of Gonzaga students committed to volunteering with the elderly community. ZESST is a community outreach program centered towards building relationships between Gonzaga students and the residents fo Maplewood Gardens. Maplewood Gardens is an assisted living home for the elderly located near the Gonzaga campus. ZESST will organize and execute social activities for the Maplewood residents on Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 6:15-8:00 pm at CCASL 1 to head over to Maplewood. The goal of the program in to increase the amount activities and events offered at Maplewood while providing an opportunity for Gonzaga students to interact with the elderly community in Spokane.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Build relationships with residents at Maplewood Gardens
  • Interact with the elderly
  • Help create, promote, and carry out events that the elderly could participate at through Maplewood Gardens
