Residence Halls

Traditional Style Residence Halls

These communities are traditional with respect to the building design. They are distinguished by bedrooms located on either side of a central corridor and a community bathroom that serves the floor. Traditional residence halls tend to be more popular with 1st year residents. The traditional style halls include: Alliance House (female), Campion House (male), Catherine/Monica Hall (coed), Crimont Hall (coed), Desmet Hall (male), Lincoln House (female), Madonna Hall (coed), River Inn Hall (coed), Roncalli House (male), and Welch Hall (female)

Suite Style Residence Halls

This style of hall offers a suite of two or three bedrooms that share an adjacent bathroom. In most cases, the suites are accessible from an interior common space, although there are some with bedrooms that open directly from the exterior of the building. Suite style halls tend to be popular with 2nd year residents, so availability for 1st year residents is limited. The suite style halls which are coed by suite include: Chardin House, Cushing House, Dooley Hall.

Theme and Interest Communities

Our theme and interest communities offer students the opportunity to live in community with others who share common interests or lifestyle choices. The theme and interest communities are coed by floor and include:

  • Leadership, Cincinnati Villa for 2009-10 (traditional style hall)
  • Engineering, Goller Hall (suite style hall)
  • Community Service, Cincinnati Villa for 2009-10 (traditional style hall)
  • Outdoor Adventure and Leadership, Marian Hall (traditional style hall)
  • Substance Free, Dillon Hall (suite style hall) and a wing in Catherine/Monica Hall (traditional style hall)
  • International Community, Dussault Apt Complex (apartment style, very limited number)

Building and Room Features

Each of our communities has a unique character, but all share some common features: room and lounge furnishings, network access, cable TV and phone service, community space, and access to laundry facilities.
