The editor would like to thank all of the students, staff, faculty and alumni who submitted to Reflection. We received close to 150 submissions this semester, and of those we were forced by space to choose only 24 for inclusion (we do not choose Costello winners). What an insanely difficult task this was. So, thank you all who took the time and energy to submit your beautiful pieces to Reflection. Your
participation is the source of Gonzaga's artistic vitality, and I sincerely hope it will continue. I would also like to send out a resounding thank you to my assistant editors Iain Bernhoft and Claire McQuerry, whose careful considerations, relentless hard work, and downright artistic enthusiasm have resulted in the realization of this volume, the second semi-annual issue of Reflection. You are the kind of people one only hopes to be lucky enough to work with. To all of the following, thank you with all of my heart: Dr. Butterworth, for your inexorable patience and enthusiasm; Joanne Shiosaki, for your caring attitude and tender spirit; Darrell Larson, for continuously going out of your way (above and beyond any expectations) to very warm-heartedly help me get a finished product out on time; Bill Kostelec, who never hints at an expectation of thanks, and demonstrates every year his pure love of photography and art--this year twice--by processing all of the images in Reflection; Linda McDonald, for your warm smiles, gracious attitude, and generosity.
