About this edition

FROM THE EDITOR:
Contained within the pages of Reflection you will find all the work of poets, writers, artists, and common people who all live and work around us at Gonzaga University. These amazing people have chosen to share with us their experiences, emotions and talent. It is an honor to be published, but as readers, we are more honored to experience these fruits of creativity: I hope you enjoy them.

Art and literature capture what is invisible to the eye. As if catching the wind, they convey life and emotion unlike any other medium.

...Reflection is an annual injection of mystery and charisma, which follows in the long and prestigious history of Jesuit authors and artists. In an attempt to capture this spirit, this year's edition melds the spirit of zines, ad hoc collections of art and literature informally produced with the framework of a formal publication. ... Inspired by spirit and form, Reflection will hopefully speak in meaningful ways to many different kinds of people.

Please enjoy Reflection 2001. It may reveal wonderful mystery to you.

Sincerely Yours,

Steve Hansen

Reflection has so many people to thank for its success and completion. Here are a few of those people: Mary Hayes and Darrell Larson of Lawton Printing, Bill Kostelec, Joanne Shiosaki, and everyone that submitted their work.
