'Corita' Exhibition Runs through Dec. 12 at Jundt
The exhibition Corita, featuring screenprints and ephemera by American artist Corita Kent (1918-1986), has opened in the Jundt Galleries of the Jundt Art Museum at Gonzaga University and runs through Dec. 12. A free public reception will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1 followed by a lecture, titled Breaking (All) The Rules, in the Jundt Lecture Hall with guest speaker Barbara Loste. Known for her innovative teaching philosophy and social activism, Corita was a sister of the Immaculate Heart order when she chaired the art department at Immaculate Heart College in Northridge, Calif. Free video showings of the film Primary Colors: The Story of Corita (57 min.) are scheduled on Saturdays throughout the run of the exhibit at 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., and 2:30 pm. in the Jundt Lecture Hall. Exhibit Spokane continues in the Arcade Gallery through Nov. 14.
