Smoking

The University recognizes an obligation to provide an environment reasonably free of health hazards and contaminants which may adversely affect the safety and health of University personnel and students.  In support of this obligation, the University complies with the Washington State Clean Indoor Air Act, prohibiting smoking in all University buildings, including within 25 feet of any entrance, exit, window, or ventilation intake.  Managers and supervisors are responsible for enforcing the provisions of this policy and the Washington Clean Indoor Air Act for their employees and in their work areas.  The Human Resources Department is responsible for administering this policy.
