| Digital Media Marketing Specialist Gonzaga School of Law |

Reporting to the Dean of the Gonzaga University School of Law, the Specialist will oversee and execute digital marketing to increase active engagement with prospective and current students, donors, alumni, faculty, staff, and other Law School community members. The Specialist will work with the University¡¦s Marketing and Communications Department (MarCom) and Information Technology office (IT) to rebuild the Law School¡¦s website and, once the site is completed, have day to day responsibility for creating and managing content. The Specialist will also create and implement effective digital marketing strategies to include website updates, social media, email marketing, text messaging, and audio/visual materials in support of the institution¡¦s overall communications, marketing, and fundraising objectives. This position requires a high level of interpersonal skills, creativity, and technical abilities.
There is a possibility of an additional 6 month contract at the end of the initial term, or converting the position into one with benefits and no fixed term.

The Director reports to the Dean of the Law School and is responsible for the planning, administration, and management of all aspects of the library. The Director provides strategic vision, fiscal stewardship, operational management, and ensures outstanding service to the faculty and students in the Law School. Duties include, but are not limited to, budgeting, hiring, collection development, long-range planning, and leading in a technology-rich environment. The Director oversees a budget of about $1.8 million and is responsible for leading, managing, and supervising all library personnel, which includes four librarians and eight full-time staff members. Within the limitations of funding and staffing, the Director also develops and administers services to the bar and the judiciary. The Director is expected to manage the Chastek Library in a manner that fulfills the American Bar Association’s accreditation standards and AALS membership requirements.
The Director works closely with the Dean, the other librarians, and the faculty to understand the current and anticipated needs of the community. In order to support the teaching, research, and mission of the Law School, the Director must build collaborative relationships across the law school, the university, the region, and throughout the profession. Because the Chastek Library is a fundamental part of the Gonzaga University campus, the Director maintains collaborative relationships with the main campus Foley Center Library. As a library faculty member the Director must be an engaged and participating member of the library profession whose scholarly writing, taken as a whole, makes a valuable contribution to the understanding or development of the law or to the progress of library science. In addition, while most Directors have taught courses in legal research, teaching is not an obligation.

In its eighth year, the Program has attracted more than 500 students who take courses either on campus or on-line. The program has a strong interest in global and ethical aspects of communication. Teaching experience and clear plan of research desirable. Ph.D. required in Communication or closely related discipline (e.g., , journalism, communication studies, organizational communication). This position seeks a strong generalist who can teach a variety of our courses, including Theorizing Communication and Communication Thesis or Project. The person will also help us achieve our Department and University Mission. We are seeking a dynamic individual who can both understand the balance of the curriculum and help to guide its growth and quality. The program’s emphasis is on global and ethical aspects of communication from a media and culture or media ecologist perspective. Gonzaga University, a private, Jesuit, Catholic, university, is seeking a dean for its School of Engineering and Applied Science. Located on the Spokane River, less than half a mile from downtown Spokane, Washington, Gonzaga is in the center of the Inland Northwest, with lakes, mountains, national forests and parks all close by. The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. The School offers ABET accredited undergraduate programs in mechanical, electrical, civil, and computer engineering, undergraduate programs in computer science and engineering management, and a graduate program in energy transmission and distribution. The School has a current enrollment of approximately 630 students and 25 full-time, tenured/tenure-track faculty. SEAS students benefit from strong engineering programs coupled with a Jesuit liberal arts core curriculum and integration with the School of Business and with science departments at the university. Gonzaga's undergraduate engineering program is tied for 17th place in the national ranking. |
