Gonzaga's anniversary celebration begins with the 2012 Commencement as we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates at ceremonies for seniors, graduate, doctoral and law students.
In September, 2012, we will mark the start of University's 125th academic year and the School of Law's Centennial year with a week of celebrations.
The Gonzaga University School of Law is celebrating its Centennial during the 2012-13 academic year. We are excited to celebrate this major milestone with our students, alumni, faculty, and staff, as well as the families and Spokane community that support us. Below are a few of the ways in which we'll be celebrating our first 100 years.
One of Gonzaga's biggest weekends will be even bigger this year. Whatever you do, come back to campus this weekend to live (or re-live) the Gonzaga Experience with family and fiends, both old and new. Be sure to register and make travel plans early because these events are sure to fill up!
Gonzaga is coming to you for the first-ever National Gonzaga Day – a day Zags around the globe will unite in spirit and gather in person to celebrate all things GU. Everyone is invited to join the celebration, whether you're a student, alumni, parent, or casual fan.
Since the spring of 2011, Gonzaga University President, Dr. Thayne M. McCulloh, has sought to bring well-known speakers to campus who, through their lives and work, reflect Gonzaga's values of scholarly research, social justice, and inspired transformation. The Presidential Speaker Series welcomes the entire Spokane community to be part of these special events. Our 125th anniversary celebration features our biggest speakers yet, three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Thomas L. Friedman will speak Sept. 4, while primatologist and conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall will speak April 9 (2013).
Each year, Gonzaga students, alumni, faculty, and staff give back to Spokane and other communities around the globe through hundreds of service projects. Throughout the anniversary year, we will feature 125 of them as a way to recognize our commitment to service.
