Joseph C. Metcalfe Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship History and Description:
The Joseph C. Metcalfe Memorial Scholarship was established by family and friends in loving memory of Joseph C. Metcalfe, a young man who enriched many lives and became known as “The King of Boone Avenue” during the 1960's and 1970's while attending Gonzaga. This scholarship symbolizes and respects the wishes of students with disabilities who choose to pursue an education at Gonzaga University and encourages these students to develop their talents and personalities.
Applicants must have a disability which affects their ability to navigate campus, including vision impairment, deafness, or use of a wheelchair or mobility device. Please write a personal statement no longer than 500 words describing your disability and how it affects your daily life. Applicants must also provide two letters of recommendation. Selection criteria include financial need as demonstrated by the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
