Ed and Bunny Renouard Distinguished Lecture Series
Ed and Bunny Renouard
Ed and Bunny Renouard: Ed is a 1959 graduate of the Mechanical Engineering Program and retired as Vice President and General Manager of the Boeing Company. He received the Distinguished Alumni Merit Award in 1992. Bunny Renouard is also a graduate of Gonzaga University, where she majored in education, and is a retired speech therapist.
Based on a generous donation from the Renouards, the School of Engineering and Applied Science is hosting a Distinguished Lecture Series during the 2016-2017 academic year. The School plans to welcome 4-6 speakers between February, 2017, and April, 2017. Speakers represent interests from multiple fields of engineering and computer science, as well as representatives from both industry and academia. "In addition to the many technical courses engineering and science majors must take to get their degree, it is also important for them to learn from successful men and women in industry, business, and academia," Ed Renouard said. "The Distinguished Lecture Series allows Gonzaga students to listen to leaders with more experience. They also get practical ideas that will broaden their thinking, and hopefully inspire them."
The lecture series involves both the formal lecture and an informal dinner among the invited speaker and a select group of undergraduates. The small-group dinner provides an exceptional opportunity for our undergraduates to meet professionals from both industry and academia.
The School of Engineering and Applied Science hopes to continue this lecture series in future years.
The most recent speaker, Mr. Phil Reinig, Los Alamos Technical Associates Inc., Chairman, Founder and former CEO, gave a lecture titled, “A Pathway to Startup and Operations of an Engineering Services Company" on April 5, 2017 in the Wolff Auditorium. Click HERE to listen to Mr Reinig's lecture.
