BECAUSE BETTER BUSINESS MEANS BETTER CARE

The healthcare industry is rapidly changing and needs leaders with both the technical knowledge and management skills to move it forward. Gonzaga's MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management (MBA/HCM) program is designed to train administrators to manage the businesses that produce and deliver healthcare services. We are committed to developing innovative and ethical leaders with the ability to think critically and creatively about the problems facing healthcare today.

Gonzaga's MBA/HCM brings together working professionals from across the healthcare industry to discuss, analyze, and evaluate the business of healthcare management. Past students have come from a number of professional backgrounds including hospital administration, nursing, general practice, and pharmacy. Comprised of the MBA core along with various healthcare-specific electives, the program equips its graduates with the knowledge and insight to add value to the organizations they serve.

A PROGRAM FOR WORKING PROFESSIONALS

Gonzaga's MBA program is designed to accommodate the complex schedules of working professionals in the healthcare industry.

  • Classes are available on campus during nights and optional weekends.

CURRICULUM DESIGNED TO ADD VALUE

The MBA Healthcare Management concentration curriculum was designed under the guidance of a healthcare task force, comprised of healthcare executives from the Inland Northwest. With the help of this task force, the school of business developed a curriculum that provides students with a well-rounded business education, while allowing them the ability to tailor the program based on personal and professional goals.

  • Gonzaga's MBA/HCM program is comprised of roughly half traditional MBA classes and half healthcare specific classes.

  • Some healthcare-specific courses include: Healthcare Economics, Healthcare Ethics, Healthcare Law, Management of Healthcare Finance, and Healthcare Information Systems.

  • Students can take nearly a third of their course work as electives, taking classes such as Healthcare Delivery Systems, Current Issues in Healthcare Management, Strategic Planning, and Community Health Promotion.

FACULTY DEDICATED TO STUDENTS' SUCCESS

  • All courses are taught by either tenure or tenure-track faculty from the Gonzaga School of Business or professionally qualified adjuncts. Professors are highly accessible to students.

"I began my career as a neonatal nurse in 1997. I quickly developed not only my passion to provide care to patients, but also to learn more about how the healthcare field works from a business perspective. As I began to develop my leadership skills I found quickly the business perspective was even more essential. I began to research my options for Master's programs and quickly found Gonzaga's program was the perfect fit. The MBA in Healthcare Management Gonzaga offers has given me the opportunity to take business principles and apply them to the world I work in every day. I have had an opportunity to not only learn theory, but also learn from some of the top healthcare leaders in our community."
