Opposing Viewpoints Database Info
Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center is a full-text resource covering current social issues. Such issues include Terrorism, Endangered Species, Stem Cell Research, and Gun Control. This database brings together all the information that's needed to fully understand an issue: pro and con viewpoint articles, reference articles that provide context, full-text magazines, academic journals, and newspapers, primary source documents, government and organizational statistics, multimedia, including images and podcasts, links to hand-selected web sites, and more.
The most popular topics are listed on the main Opposing Viewpoints page, to allow for quick browsing. Users with specific subjects in mind can use the Basic and Advanced Search options. As part of searching, users can select content type (academic journals, magazines, news, reference, etc.) and content level (basic, intermediate, or advanced).
The Toolbox icon has information about writing papers, including articles on how to judge information, how to read and interpret graphs, and how to use footnotes.
