The Master of Arts in Leadership and Administration (MALA), Master of Education in Leadership Administration (MELA), and Master of Education (School Administration) (MESA) are non-certification degree programs that provides international administrative graduate student candidates the opportunity to develop and deepen their leadership competencies by focusing on the needed knowledge, skills, and attitudes for the practice of educational leadership. The courses and experiences are specifically designed to deepen and develop leadership competencies for international students interested in educational administration and for people serving in educational agencies or programs.
The program degrees are offered through an off-campus delivery model in Canada, and through an on-campus delivery model for students in the United States. The off-campus model delivers the programs in Canada based upon the request of a group of twenty or more students. Students attend class at the designated site during the academic year and may come to campus during the summer. The programs are usually two years in length, during which students take two courses per semester. These programs will not prepare students for principal or superintendent certification in the State of Washington.
