Who are We? |
|
The Men's Violence Prevention Group is the first group on campus dealing solely with Men's Violence Prevention, which we believe is essential to successfully fighting the destructive force of violence against women. |
| What are we doing? |
| As a selected group of students and faculty committed to creating awareness and prevention, we want to: |
|
| Where and When? |
|
Right here at GU. We offer different programs and resident hall presentations all year long. |
| Why? |
|
MVP seeks to be an active and visible representation of what we feel and believe - that violence against women is wrong and that we as men can help to curtail this problem which affects us everywhere, even here on campus. In taking the initiative in stopping violence against women, we fight occurrences of sexual assault and other crimes both on a behavioral and cognitive level. MVP is an opportunity for men to come together and learn how they can continue to be part of the solution . Through speakers like Todd Denny, bystander training, and discussions/programs that promote awareness and consciousness, we work to thwart violence against women. |
| How? |
| We strive to transform this campus by increasing awareness of the fact that violence against women happens every day. MVP wants to vital part in the prevention of these crimes. As a group concerned with cultural and social change, we share an identity that is concerned with preventing violence against women. |
