Campus Resources:

Sexual Assault Support Services(SART):
The role of Gonzaga's SART First Responder is to provide compassionate support and assist you with resources. SART First Responders receive intensive training on the dynamics of dating and domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking. They are trained in response procedures and provide support and information about campus and community resources and legal options. SART members respond to incidents of violence against women from the Gonzaga campus at the reporting party's request.

GU Campus Public Safety and Security Office:

Campus Public Safety and Security Officers participate in training opportunities provided by several of our community partners. Offers receive advanced level training to strengthen security and investigative strategies. The Campus Public Safety and Security Director participates in the Violence Against Women Board to develop and implement effective campus policies and services to prevent, identify and respond to violence against women from the campus.
The Campus Public Safety and Security office is located in Welch Hall, lower west side.  You can call Security at extension 3222 on campus or 329-3222 from outside phones.  Campus Security officers patrol campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

On-Site Crime Victim Advocate
A representative of Lutheran Community Services (SAFeT) is available on campus every Tuesday, between 11:30 and 2:30. Interested students can meet with her in Crosby.

Counseling Services: Counseling and Career Assessment Center 
Monday - Friday: 8am-12pm, 1pm-4:30pm

The Counseling and Career Assessment Center is a place where students can find understanding, acceptance and practical help. The counseling professionals are trained and experienced in addressing the needs of university students.
The Center offers individual counseling on a short-term basis, where a professional counselor can work with a student. The counselors are trained in brief therapy. When students have concerns that they require more specialized long-term therapy, the counselor assists in providing referrals to appropriate community professionals.
Counseling Services is committed to protecting your privacy. Your identity and any disclosures made in the course of the counseling relationship, will be regarded as confidential. Confidential information will not be shared with anyone outside the center without your expressed written consent, unless there is a clear and imminent danger to yourself or another. Visits to the center are not part of your academic record.
Counseling Services is located on the third floor of the Administration Building (room 303).

Health Center

Closed on University holidays and during the semester breaks.

The Health Center is an ambulatory on-campus health care facility staffed with a M.D., a nurse practitioner, and three registered nurses. The center provides health education and medical care to return the students to their academic lives. To access care quickly and easily, phone for an appointment. At the Health Center you can discuss any and all of your health concerns in a confidential environment.

Spokane County Sheriff:
Gonzaga University and The Spokane County Sheriff's Department are forging a new partnership for the project to Prevent Crime Against Women. The partnership was initiated to strengthen security and investigative strategies and to increase offender accountability. The Spokane Sheriff's Department provides ongoing collaboration and support in the development and implementation of the project to ensure a coordinated community-wide response to violence against women. Deputy Sheriff Cindy North-Jones provides expert training on stalking for key members on campus and serves on the Violence Against Women Advisory Board.

Offers a full range of medical services. Four family practice physicians are on staff as well as two nurse practitioners and two dentists. There is an on-site medical laboratory and fully stocked pharmacy for use by the clinic's patients. The staff will work with you to make your care affordable.

Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS):
Monday - Saturday; hours vary. Call for hours at the clinic of your choice. 
Sliding fee available, Healthy Options, BHP of WA., Medicare, Medicaid, medical coupons accepted and most insurances.

CHAS is a non-profit system of federally qualified community clinics providing quality medical and dental healthcare to families and individuals of all ages, regardless of ability to pay. CHAS operates on a sliding scale that is dependent upon household income and family size.

A variety of clinical services are provided to the public. Confidential sexually-transmitted disease (STD) testing and treatment is available, along with HIV testing and counseling. Additional services include women's health exams, pregnancy tests and pregnancy prevention.

Counseling and Assistance:
Sexual Assault and Family Trauma Response Center (SAFeT):
Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. 
All crisis services free for all victims/families, therapy free for those that qualify.

Provides a 24-hour Crime Victim/Sexual Assault and Family Trauma Crisis Line and free advocacy and crisis response services to children and adults who have experienced or witnessed violence and crime. Individual, group, and family therapy is available for all ages to address a number of trauma related issues, including sexual assault and child sexual abuse, and other traumatic stress inducing experiences. Other services include support groups for survivors and their partners and a parent support for non-offending parents of children who have been victimized. Advocates, and com immunity education specialists are also available to provide educational presentations and training to schools, businesses, and organizations on a variety of topics related to violence and abuse prevention and intervention. A child sexual abuse prevention workbook, "My Very Own Book About Me" and a workbook for children who have witnessed domestic violence called "A Warm Safe Place" as well as other resource materials are offered through ACT for Kids. Anyone in crisis or needing information and referral as the result of a crime including sexual assault may call the 24-Hour Crisis Line. To schedule an appointment for therapy, advocacy, or other trauma related issues, call 747-8224 during regular business hours.

Alternatives to Domestic Violence believes violence is a community problem. Therefore, we ally ourselves with every appropriate community service organization and local, state and federal government agency or program in order to educate our community and create a climate of accountability.

The Alternatives to Domestic Violence Program works to fulfill its mission via the following programs: the Confidential Safe Shelterthe Legal Advocacy programthe Civil Legal Assistance Centerthe Domestic Violence Crisis Line, and the Counseling Center.
