Blogs

Studying leadership is a combination of both learning about theory and gaining practical experience.  These leadership blogs are a great combination of those ideals as the writers provide insight about leadership through theory analyzed in the light of their own experience.  Here are a few blogs that the LRC recommends to developing and established student leaders.

The Hungry Student Leader

Writer T.J. Sullivan covers a broad range of topics including advising, confrontation, meetings, motivation, and recruitment.  This frequently updating blog is popular with students and the writer is a sought after speaker and presenting.  You can browse current and past blog posts by topic by visiting tjsullivan.com/blog.

Staying for Tea

Writer Aaron Ausland maintains this blog which focuses on good principles and practice of community-based international development.  This blog is a must read for any students who plan to pursue service work in a foreign country, particularly in impoverished areas.  Access this blog by visiting stayingfortea.org.

CLP: Zambia Blog

Keep tabs on Gonzaga students participating in the CLP Zambia Servant Leadership study abroad program.  The blog chronicles the trip undertaken each summer by a group of Gonzaga students who live and teach in Zambezi, Zambia.  Readers can also browse past blog posts from all trips.  This program has received national recognition and is open to all students through an application process each fall.  Visit gonzagainzambezi.org to read about this great experience.
