In Hall Services
Laundry Services
Laundry facilities are available in each residence hall, with the exception of the River Inn. Those living in the River Inn must walk across the parking lot for a laundry facility that also has limited evening hours.A laundry fee is included in the semester room charge, thereby eliminating the necessity for a coin-operated system. Students must provide their own laundry detergent and other supplies.
Basic Cable Service
Each residence hall room is equiped with basic AT&T Broadband television cable service free of charge. In most of our buildings, limited premium channels can be secured through AT&T Broadband after you move in.
Internet Service
Internet connection is available to each student in the residence halls and on campus apartments.
In room phones
Telephone service is provided to each student room. This service provides unlimited campus and local calling. Standard service includes the telephone and an internal voice mail (Intuity Audix), which allows students to establish their own voice greeting, system password, and message options. Long distance service is available through the student purchase of long distance calling cards at the university Postal Center, or at numerous locations off campus.Vending Machines
Each residence hall and on campus apartment has at least one pop and candy/snack vending machine available to residents. Many of our larger buildings have multiple machines.
Kitchens
Limited cooking facilities are located in most residence halls. Since all residence hall students are required to be on a meal plan, the facilities are not designed to prepare meals on a daily basis. We would describe these facilities as small kitchenettes, many with very old but working stoves and ovens. These facilities are not meant to serve as an alternative to a meal plan. They are mostly meant to assist with that once in a while craving to make brownies, or bake that delicious frozen pie you just bought from Safeway.
Study Lounges
Each dormitory has at least one lounge or lobby area suitable for study when in room study is not available. The Foley library also has a 24-hour study lounge available. This 24 hour policy is under review and may be limited in the near future, but we think this library service is a great location for quiet study away from people you know and who can distract you.
TV Lounges
Each residence hall has a television available in the common area lounge(s) for students.
Recreation Lounges
Some residence halls have pool tables and ping pong tables available, as well as spacious lounge areas for large groups to visit together. In addition, some buildings have their own pianos for practice.
